In the 90’s ...
In the late 90’s (just before flying to the Falklands and joining HMS Dumbarton Castle - Falkland Island Guardship). I owned a “Classic Mini”, purchased for the princely sum of £150, and sold for the same amount 12 months later. If the car ever went over 50mph, the front wheels wobbled like crazy, and shook everyone to death! If you shut the door (passenger or drivers) too hard, something always fell off! But the car did loads of trips from Portsmouth to Macclesfield, and always got me there without any problems.
It got me, my mum, my 17 year old nephew and Flash the canary (and all our luggage.) From Macclesfield, Cheshire, to my brothers place in Bournemouth, Dorest, (and back). It did not let us down once.
In the 12 months that I owned it, apart from petrol, I only ever put half a pint of oil in it! Happy days indeed
2004 - 2007
My 2nd Mini was a brand spanking new BMW MINI One Convertible.
We joined a local club, the Mini Severns that are still going strong. Check them out if you live in Avon, Wiltshire or Somerset. More details can be found here :
I originally developed this site so that M and I could upload our videos of the various runs we attended. Hence the reason that our domain name is “miniadventure.me.uk”
However, things change and running two cars was getting expensive. I purchased a brand new Chinesscooter that I was using for work. However, after the bad snow fall in Jan/Feb 2009 I realised I needed 4 wheels.
I now drive a Smart 451 convertible, and love it.
The car is perfect to get to work in. M and I have been to loads of place in it too.
