We now use our website to just host our video files - those that we think are worth hosting anyway!
This gives family members who live in far flung counties like Dorset, Wiltshire, Shropshire, Middlesex, Norfolk, Cheshire and Inverness. A chance to see what we have been up to from the comfort of their own homes. Instead of waiting for a DVD, they visit the web page instead.
Be sure to explore the video files. There might be at least one we have uploaded that you might like.
A Brief Biography
I served in the Royal Navy for 24 years. I love sitting down and piecing together home videos (or more like home DVD’s nowadays). I did not get my first video camera until 1989 (a Sanyo 8mm). I then progressed to a Sony Hi8, and now digital. I own a Canon XL1S and a Sony PC100e (8 years old this year)! How I wished digital was about from the 70’s when I joined up - some good stories to tell there.
My brother also served for 12 years and was on HMS Hermes during the Falklands conflict. He lives in Dorset with his wife, and 2 great kids.
I was serving onboard HMS Bristol during the Falklands. Actually flew from Bristol to Hermes to see him during hostilities courtesy of HMS Apollo’s Wasp helicopter (and the permission of my skipper Captain Alan Grose RN).
There is an HMS Bristol Falklands slide show on Video Page 2.
